Vintage Best & Co. 5th Ave. NY Boy’s Hat.
Color is light brown with darker brown cord hat band.
Inside hat marked Styled by “Bucky” 85% Wool, 15% Cellulose Mfg. Code 1232.
This hat was from the original business before it was sold to McCrory.
Half the size tag is missing.
Measurement around inside of leather sweat band is 20 1/2 inches which puts it at size 6 1/2.
Best & Co. 5th Ave. at 51st St. NY was established in 1879. The original business was bought out in 1966 by McCrory.
McCrory sold the lease on the building to Olympic Airways owned by Aristotle Onassis in 1970 and closed all stores.
