Description
For sale is a rare 1930s CERTO BOTTLE which would have been filled with
Pectin to make jelly and jam. This amber glass bottle has an embossed
front that displays a 1/2 cup measuring line and the company name
"CERTO". The bottom embossed section is upside down as the bottle was
meant to be mixed. The bottom of the bottle is marked "Made in USA" and
"D 33 9" on the bottom. Certo was a fruit pectin made from the skins
of fruit and was used for making jams and jellies so they would set.
Pectin is a naturally occurring starch found in fruits and vegetables.
This bottle is a nice amber color and stands about 7 3/8" tall.
